Boiled and baked, bagels as we know them originated in Poland, but just like the Jews themselves, you can find them all over the world, even in China where the Chinese break them into pieces and put them in their stir-fries!

Guest
  • Maria Balinska, author of The Bagel: The Surprising History of a Modest Bread, editor of BBC Radio's World Current Affairs department
  • Joan Nathan, host and executive producer of Jewish Cooking in America on PBS, author of ten cookbooks and a regular contributor to The New York Times
