Choying Drolma didn't want to get married. So, she chose the only option available to a Tibetan girl – she became a Buddhist nun. In this hour of To the Best of Our Knowledge, how music and the monastic life drew one woman beyond Tibet, Into the world. Also, the making of a Western yogi. And, a Broadway star tries to claim new territory for the black actor.

SEGMENT 1:

Elizabeth Gilbert is the author of "Eat, Pray, Love." Gilbert tells Anne Strainchamps about the quest for fulfillment that she undertook after her marriage ended.

SEGMENT 2:

Matthew Remski is a certified yoga instructor who teaches in Madison and co-owns a studio called Baraboo Yoga and Living Arts in Baraboo, Wisconsin. To The Best Of Our Knowledge producer Veronica Rueckert talks to Remski about how he made the change from being a Canadian novelist to a Western yogi. Choying Drolma began her life as a Buddhist nun in Nepal. As she tells Steve Paulson, Drolma is now bringing music to the West with American guitarist Steve Tibbetts.

 

SEGMENT 3:

Andre De Shields is a veteran Broadway actor with credits which include "The Wiz" and "The Full Monty." De Shields talks to Jim Fleming about his mission to win new roles for black actors, roles that are traditionally reserved for white actors.
