I met my husband through a phone call, which turned into an hour and a

half phone call. He was living in Brownstown, IL (between Effingham, IL &

St., Louis, MO) and I was here in beautiful Sheboygan Co. Wisconsin. We

talked like we had known each other for 20 years and as though we were old

friends catching up on news. We found out that we have almost everything

in common, including trucking, farming, and fishing.

I met him a few days later at a truck stop (isn't that where all good

truck drivers should meet each other?). I drove 100 miles and he drove

400 miles to the designated meeting spot. On first sight, my reaction was

"I can live with that". We were married 6 months later and have been

married for 13 years.

In that 13 years, I "retired" from truck driving (although I still keep my

Commercial Drivers' License) and launched a new career as an attorney.

That metamorphosis was largely made possible because of the love and

support of my best friend and "love at first sight"
