Promoters of this year’s Eaux Claires indie rock festival say they’re coming back to western Wisconsin in 2016.

More than 20,000 people flocked to 40 acres of farmland just outside the city of Eau Claire last July for the Eaux Claires Music and Arts Festival. The inaugural event was organized by Grammy award-winner and Eau Claire native Justin Vernon and Aaron Dessner, the guitarist for the New York-based rock group the National.

The concert offered a mix of 45 bands and visual art installations, including sets from Vernon’s Bon Iver, the National, the Indigo Girls and others.

Brian Appel, of Crashline Productions, helped produce the event and he said they learned a lot last year event.

“So, we can make a lot of adjustments behind the scenes for year two that will make the experience for the customer even better. So, that’s really what we focus on,” he said.

Appel said that they’re working to offer more campsites and more food and drink offerings for next year’s festival goers.

The event will be held on Aug. 12 to Aug. 13.
