Brett Laidlaw describes himself as "the product of an idyllic childhood," days spent fishing for trout, playing in fields, and seeking solitude in the woods of Eden Prairie, Minnesota. In his new book, he talks about foraging for truly wild foods – chanterelles, nettles, berries, and trout fresh from the stream, and lays out the laws for mushroom hunting, curing bacon, laissez-faire gardening, and more.
