| I am so happy for you as you begin this new adventure, but so sad for myself that you are leaving WPR. Your warmth, grace and humor always brighten my day! You have been an inspiration to me since I first heard you on the radio and continue to inspire me as I come to know you as a friend and colleague. Please promise to visit after you retire! |

| I also enjoyed Jean's programs. Perhaps my favorite was the one in which she interviewed the owner of the Mustard Museum. He took Jean along on one of the best shaggy dog stories ever when he told of the beginning of the Mayo Clinic. I don't think I ever heard her laugh that hard on any other show. |

| I discovered HoE as a podcast 6 yrs ago. It's been a constant companion on my long runs since the first day I heard it. Many topics have reminded me of growing up in Iowa, and others have expanded my worldview beyond the doors of the operating room at Duke, where I work as an anesthesiologist. I`m truly sorry to hear that today is the last show, but wanted to contribute as a thank you to Jean for her company over thousands of miles through the North Carolina Forest. I`ll miss your wonderful show |

| I want to thank you all for the wonderful gift you've given us. I've learned so much from your show, I feel like the time has been spent in a really good undergrad level classroom. From compelling stories like Mukhtar Mai's odyssey to the personal musings of great artists, your show has brought us all a little closer together. I will miss Here On Earth. |

| Thank you, Jean, for your outstanding programing, endless curiosity, and outlook on life. You are the reason I joined WPR in the first place and I will sorely miss you. |

| The first time I heard your voice on the radio I said, "Wow! Who's that?" I am happy to say that not only did I find out who that was, but I had the honor to work with you. You have given anyone who seeks a career as an on-air host a career full of excellent examples of how to do it right. I wish you all the best as you move into the next phase of your life. |

| While a stay-at-home mom, I listened to your morning show, grateful for adult conversation. Favorites are Women of Spirit, slow food, Career Talk, Connie K., Wisconsin restaurants, Heart Math, and some great poetry. Thanks and good luck to you. |

| Jean,
You have inhabited my car, my truck, my computer, my head and my heart for all of your 28 years with WPR. I will miss you...all of the you that radio reveals. Thank you. May God speed you on your continuing life journey. |
