Republican presidential hopeful John Kasich drew a handful of supporters to a campaign rally in Wisconsin Wednesday, but the Ohio Governor had to fend off media questions about possibly quitting the race for the White House.
Kasich told backers at a suburban Milwaukee hotel about his plans to cut federal taxes, hand more power to the states and build international efforts to combat terrorism. Afterwards, reporters asked Kasich if fundraising problems will cause him to drop out of the GOP contest before Wisconsin’s April 5 primary.
“Fallen behind in fundraising? We’ve always been the little engine that can,” Kasich responded. “There is zero chance that we would drop out before Wisconsin, and there’d be no reason for us to. We’re actually raising more money and having more people come.”
