La Crosse County Administrative Center; Dairyland Power Cooperative expands solar portfolio

    The La Crosse County Board recently voted to move employees in its Administrative Center to a bank building in downtown La Crosse. That will allow private developers to refurbish the Administrative Center into housing for students at Western Wisconsin Technical College. A final part of the deal involves the county selling part of a parking lot across the street from the La Crosse County Courthouse to Associated Bank so it can relocate when county employees move in at the Sixth and State Street location where Associated Bank is currently housed. County officials talk about the 11th hour proposal that is a couple of years from becoming a reality. Yet all parties have just a couple of months to complete the paperwork of the deal.

  • Dairyland Power Cooperative Expands Solar Portfolio

    La Crosse-based Dairyland Power Cooperative has reached a deal to buy solar power from Minnesota-Three, LLC which is building a new solar power facility north of Rochester, Mn. The energy created at the facility is enough to power about 60 homes, and is fairly large for solar projects in the upper Midwest. Dairyland officials talk about the project, current solar projects, and the future of solar power.
