Latino Leaders Call Out Walker For His Changed Stance On Immigration

Governor Now Says He's Against Amnesty

By

Some Latino leaders in Wisconsin are criticizing Gov. Scott Walker’s latest position on immigration.

In the past, Walker has said he’d be open to a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants in the U.S. However, Walker recently reversed his course, saying that U.S.- Mexico border security should come first, and that employers should be forced to verify their workers are legal. He says he opposes what he calls amnesty for people here illegally.

Darryl Morin of the League of United Latin American Citizens said that if Walker runs for president, he won’t have much Latino support.
