Bill Prohibiting Plastic Bag Bans Approved by Senate Committee
A bill aiming to prohibit plastic bag bans within Wisconsin passed a senate committee yesterday after making it through the state assembly last week. The plan, backed by the Alliance of Wisconsin Retailers and the Wisconsin Grocers Association, aims to curb costs to the packaging industry and businesses that use plastic bags and other auxiliary containers. We talk to it’s Assembly sponsor, Rep. Mike Rohrkaste (R-Neenah), about what the bill means for Wisconsin’s economy and the environment.
