TERRY BELL

Morning Edition Host, Madison Reporter

Terry Bell has been Wisconsin Public Radio's "Morning Edition" host since 1999.

Terry grew up on a dairy farm in southwest Wisconsin, dreaming of the day when he’d call Milwaukee Brewers baseball games alongside Bob Uecker. A 1988 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Terry's work has been recognized over the years with several awards from organizations such as the Milwaukee Press Club, the Associated Press, Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, and the Northwest Broadcast News Association. Terry has also worked in radio and television news in Oshkosh, Eau Claire, and La Crosse.

He's a past president of the Western Wisconsin Press Club, and a winner of UW-La Crosse's Douglas Carnes Award. Terry has volunteered at Madison's Kennedy Elementary School, and for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin. He’s served as a board member of Madison’s Respite Center, a non-profit agency helping children of families in crisis.

Terry spends his afternoons as part of the administrative staff at Madison’s Preschool of the Arts.
