CLINTON CAMPAIGNS FOR OBAMA IN WAUKESHA WPR News - Clinton Campaigns for Obama in Waukesha
Friday November 02, 2012 by Chuck Quirmbach

Former President Bill Clinton campaigned for President Barack Obama in Waukesha Thursday.

Four-and-a-half years ago, the former president was saying some tough things about Barack Obama while helping his wife Hillary campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination against the then-Illinois Senator. Now the former president is going to bat for the current one, and Mr. Clinton says he's far more enthusiastic today about President Obama than in 2008, "Because he's fought the fight. He's done it."

Clinton spoke to about 600 people at the UW-Waukesha. He praised the president for changing the student loan program, passing the Affordable Care Act, and for the Obama administration's debt reduction plan. Clinton also campaigned Thursday night in Eau Claire. Prior to Clinton's arrival in Wisconsin, the Republican National Committee said President Obama is struggling to garner support and energize his liberal base here, but has brought in a parade of top surrogates and celebrities.
