WALKER MUM ON SUPERINTENDENT ENDORSEMENT WPR News - Walker Mum On Superintendent Endorsement
Thursday November 29, 2012 by Gilman Halsted

Governor Scott Walker says he still hasn't decided whether he will endorse a candidate for State Superintendent of Schools in the Spring Election. Republican state Rep. Don Pridemore announced this week he'll run against incumbent Superintendent Tony Evers. The governor says he has worked well with Evers on educational policy initiatives but he says there's another election in April he thinks is more important, "I think probably the most important race next spring will be for the state Supreme Court. Real question of whether or not you are going to have someone who upholds the Constitution and comes out of the more judicial prudence background or are you going to have an activist. That's probably going to be the most targeted race."

Without mentioning her name, Gov. Walker appears to be endorsing incumbent Supreme Court Justice Patience Roggensack, widely seen as the leader of the conservative majority on the state high court. So far attorney Vince Megna,  Marquette University Law Professor Ed Fallone, and Dane County Judge Maryann Sumi have indicated they may run against Roggensack.
