The Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa’s tribal council decided not to renew easements with the Canadian energy firm Enbridge for a pipeline that passes through the reservation. The pipeline crosses about 12 miles of tribal lands on its route from Superior to the Straits of Mackinac, and has been operating since 1953. We talk to a tribal council member about the recent decision.
