December 15, 2012: from Quiet Please! and My Friend Irma
WPR's 9XM Players presented a live holiday special featuring two Christmas scripts. The first, "Berlin: 1945", was originally produced for the dramatic series "Quiet Please!" in 1947. It is the touching story of GIs preparing their Christmas feast when a stranger arrives to remind them of just what the holiday is all about.

The second script, "My Friend Irma's Christmas Episode", was originally produced on Christmas Day in 1950. It follows the comic adventures of Irma, everyone's favorite "blonde," as she prepares to throw a Christmas shindig. Unfortunately, none of her guests arrive!

This live broadcast was hosted by WPR's Norman Gilliland in WPR's Buck Studio on the UW-Madison campus. The 9XM Players include the acting talents of Bruce Bradley, Coleman, Michele Gerard Good, Adam Hirsch, Eric Kindschi, Stephen Montagna, Steve Ripley, Lisa Spierer, Liz Stattelman-Scanlan, and Russell Wolff, with seasonal music by Rebecca Dopart.
