Ron Wolf, the general manager who helped assemble the legendary Green Bay Packers rosters of the 1990s, is being honored by his old team with an exhibit at the Packers Hall of Fame, along with a ceremony this Sunday in which Wolf will have his name inscribed on the facade of Lambeau Field.
The honors come on the heels of Wolf’s induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this summer.
Wolf is credited with turning around a losing team after taking charge of the Packers in 1991: “We were told we were coming to the cesspool of the National Football League,” Wolf recalls.

The players he drafted, including Brett Favre and Reggie White, eventually helped the Packers win the Super Bowl in 1997, the team’s first national championship since the Vince Lombardi era.
Following the ceremony this Sunday, Wolf’s name will stand alongside Lombardi’s on the walls of Lambeau Field.
“It just sends chills through you,” said Wolf. “I know it’s probably going to be in the 30s and I’m going to be cold anyway, but that doesn’t matter. It’s a marvelous, marvelous feeling. I don’t know, I just hope I can keep it together.”
Wolf was inducted into the Packer Hall of Fame in 2000.
