Loki

Loki, the Nordic Corgillion, is my first dog and is One In A Million for sure.

As indicated by the breed name I created for him, he is somewhere between a Spitz, a Corgi, and a Papillion.  I rescued my fuzzy boy from a no-kill shelter in New Orleans in the first month I arrived there for graduate school.  He was estimated to be 6 months old at the time. We have been inseparable ever since.

I have driven across the country from Louisiana to New Jersey to Colorado and beyond just so Loki could be with me while visiting friends and family.  We trained for a half marathon together, have hiked mountains far and wide, and navigated the streets of many cities together. He is always by my side.  He was the ring bearer at my wedding and I even dedicated my doctoral dissertation to him.

A hurricane, a marriage, 3 moves, another dog, 2 cats, and innumerable adventures later, the now 9 year old Loki is still my constant companion. He is still full of the same spunk and vigor that made me select him from the many dogs I looked at on my quest those years ago for that perfect first dog. I love him so and I will never forget him.
