Sloppy Commute In Fresh Snow Across Much Of Wisconsin

By

The snow is coming down fast and furious across Wisconsin, with four to seven inches possible in parts of the state when all is said and done.

Meteorologist Paul Collar, of the National Weather Service in Sullivan, says about one to 1.5 inches of snow is coming down per hour, which could make for some dicey travel as people head home from work.

“The fortunate part about it is, it’s going to wrap up pretty quick this evening. But it’s going to impact the evening commute, especially in the Milwaukee area, and any eastern Wisconsin locations,” Collar said. “Lighter snow still exists in far western Wisconsin, but the main band is pushing through south central Wisconsin and in NE Wisconsin and pretty much moving to the east north east and it will get itself out of here this evening.”

Collar says mid to upper-30s are forecast for the next couple of days. He says another potentially messy winter storm system will likely be moving into the area by Wednesday night into Thursday.
