Summer festival-goers hope to beat the heat

The high temperatures this week are prompting some precautions at outdoor festivals.

Outdoor events like Summerfest, in Milwaukee, mean plenty of music, food and entertainment. But with temperatures in the high 80s and 90s, festival attendees will have to balance enjoying the event and dealing with the heat.

Some patrons, like Kim, say they’ll stay hydrated and out of the sun in order to take advantage of the warm weather: “Well, we’ll drink lots of water and find shade and keep out of the heat, and enjoy some of it.”

Another festival goer named Kenyan says he thinks the high temperatures will send some people back home, “I think the heat will generate a lot of quitters.”

But attendees Kim and Tim say they won’t let the heat stop them from going outside and enjoying all that summer has to offer.
