* Music by internationally-renowned artist Steve Roach was recently heard on AT THE EDGE with Michael Brown. Steve Roach is a pioneer of ambient-atmospheric-electronic music and made his recording debut in 1982 with the album NOW (Fortuna). Since then, he has produced nearly 75 solo and collaborative releases and is considered one of the leading innovators of contemporary electronic music. Roach started his own recording label in 1998, Timeroom Editions, as a compliment to his online presence. The Blue Side with Mary Flynn

* The Blue Side attended the 3rd Rockin' 50's Fest at Oneida Bingo and Casino in Green Bay during pre-festival events May 13-15 and the festival May 16-20. This event was one of the world's largest rockabilly festivals with over 120 bands performing over an 8 day period. Also featured by Oneida Bingo and Casino was Chicago great Lonnie Brooks in free performances on May 6-8. Look for more blues artists at Oneida, including Betty Lavette in June.
* The Chicago Blues Fest begins Thursday, June 7, and runs through Sunday, June 10, 2007. All performances are in Grant Park, along the Lake Michigan shore. Additional blues events are held throughout the city and suburbs during the fest.

52nd Street Jazz with Chris Kuborn
----------------------------------------------------
* Music by Grammy Award winner Marcus Miller was recently heard on 52nd Street Jazz with Chris Kuborn. Miller’s 2001 album M2 was selected by Jazziz as one of the 10 best CD’s of the year. Miller has worked closely with many music legends throughout the years including Miles Davis and Luther Vandross. Miller is touring all over the United States and overseas this summer with stops in Russia, France, Los Angeles, Oakland and Denver this June.
* Just an early reminder that Fox Valley Jazz Fest is scheduled for Labor Day weekend, so mark your calendars today!

Kalihwiyo'se with Chris Powless and Richie Plass

* Richie Plass and Chris Powless appeared at Lawrence University on May 30th to speak to a class on Pow Wows, Pow Wow music and drum music.
* On May 31st, Richie spoke to another class at Lawrence University about Native American music, as it relates to history and modern times.
