“Home for the Holidays”

Norman Gilliland will emcee the RSO’s seasonal favorite Home for the Holiday Pops Concert, Friday, December 4, at Festival Hall, conducted by Andrew Massey.
The Horlick Madrigal Singers begin the evenings pre-concert with a rousing welcome to the season. One hundred local high school voices from Lutheran, Park and Prairie choirs join the orchestra in continuing the annual holiday tradition. Everyone is invited to enjoy classic holiday music and to sing along with your favorite Christmas carols.

Michael Feldman’s Whad’Ya Know? is a two hour comedy/ quiz/ interview show, currently broadcast on nearly 300 public radio stations across the United States. As part of the Whad’Ya Know? studio audience, you’ll experience the spontaneity of a live radio show, see the faces behind the microphone, Michael Feldman and Jim Packard, and hear the Whad’Ya Know? Trio. You may also get your chance to play the Whad’Ya Know? quiz and win fabulous prizes, not to mention your shot at fifteen minutes of fame!
This is radio the way it used to be: live, unscripted fun! Host Michael Feldman will reveal ‘All the News That Isn’t’ and will interview local standouts in politics, food, contemporary affairs, and general quirkiness. There’ll be live jazz courtesy of the Whad’Ya Know? Trio, and a Waukesha area band will also be invited to play. Audience participation is strongly encouraged.
Note: Because this is a live national broadcast, it is recommended that patrons be in their seats no later than 9:30 a.m. on Jan 23rd.

About the Milwaukee Office
The downtown Milwaukee office of Wisconsin Public Radio opened in 1989 under the management of Bill Estes. Since then, the Milwaukee office has become home to a full-time reporter, two statewide programs and a full-time corporate development officer. Every weekday, listeners from around the state join in on conversations with Ideas hosts Kathleen Dunn and Ben Merens who broadcast out of the downtown Milwaukee office. Chuck Quirmbach is the Milwaukee-based reporter who covers developments and issues in Southeastern Wisconsin that are of statewide interest. The region’s corporate development officer, Joe Marty, helps businesses and organizations support WPR.
