U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan told delegates to the Republican National Convention on Tuesday night that the only way to enact a GOP agenda is to elect presidential contender Donald Trump.

The country is hungry for change in the form of a smaller federal government, a simpler tax code and a market-based health care system, the Janesville Republican said in his address to the convention.

It was similar to other speeches Ryan has given on the GOP agenda, only in this one, he called on Republicans to vote for Donald Trump and his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence.

“None of this will happen under Hillary Clinton” said Ryan. “Only with Donald Trump and Mike Pence do we have a chance at a better way.”

Ryan, who has clashed with Trump, described democracy as a series of choices and said Republicans had made theirs.

Gov. Scott Walker is scheduled to address the convention Wednesday night.
