Advanced Search

  • Enter a word which best represents the author, composer, piece, topic, guest or issue you wish to search for.

  • Currently all searches are limited to Ideas Network program notes and NPR News & Classical Network music listings. Text on individual webpages that is not from these databases, is not searched.

  • You can narrow your search by using one or more separate words with "and" between them. In this case, only notes or listings that contain all the words will be included in the results.

  • If you enter two or more words without "and" between them, the system will assume that you are searching for an exact phrase. In this case, only results with this phrase will be displayed.

  • Note that words that are entered all in lower case or all in UPPER CASE are treated the same and will match any word, but words that start with an upper case character (such as a name, title or organization) must match exactly to be included in the results.

  • Note the entry examples below and the results obtained in May 2002.
