Gov. Scott Walker refused to say whether he believes in evolution on Wednesday, dodging a question posed after a speech in London.
Walker was asked about evolution at the Chatham House think tank, where the governor is visiting as part of a four-day trade mission. The Chatham House moderator asked Walker whether he was comfortable with the idea of evolution, and whether Walker believed in it and accepted it.
“For me, I’m going to punt on that one as well,” said Walker, adding: “That’s a question a politician shouldn’t be involved in one way or the other.”

Walker said he was there to talk about trade and “not pontificate on other issues.” He also joked about loving the evolution of trade in Wisconsin.
Walker also declined to answer several foreign policy questions, saying it would be wrong for him to undermine his own president on foreign soil.

Walker later responded to the media reaction on Twitter:
Happy to field a variety of questions today at the Chatham House. Regarding one in particular…
