| The Iowa caucus is now just one week away, and the first primary in New Hampshire a week after that. But is one a better indication of the nation's political climate than the other? And just what is the difference between a caucus and a primary, anyways? After four, Ben and his guests discuss the history and politics of the Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary.
Guests:
- David Redlawsk, professor of political science at Rutgers University, and director of the Eagleton Center for Public Interest Polling. His new book is "Why Iowa?: Sequential Elections, Reform and U.S. Presidential Nominations."
-Andrew Smith, associate professor of political science at the University of New Hampshire, and director of the UNH Survey Center. He studies New Hampshire politics and teaches a class on the New Hampshire primary. |
