This year marks the 35th anniversary of the passage of Title Nine, the first comprehensive federal law prohibiting sex discrimination against students and employees of educational institutions. After ten, John Munson and his guest discuss the history of the law, and how far we’ve come since then. Guests: - Bernice Sandler, Senior Scholar, Women's Research and Education Institute. Ms. Sandler played a vital role in the development and passage of Title IX. - Caryn McTighe Musil, Senior Vice President, Association of American Colleges and Universities. Her article, “Scaling the Ivory Towers,” appears in the fall 2007 edition of “Ms." magazine.

Please note that the amount of time required to download a one-hour WPR program will vary depending on the speed of your internet connection. See the table (right) for estimated download times.

Once you click on the "Start Download Now" button below, the download dialog window may not appear for several seconds. Do NOT click on the button more than once or your download request may be refused.

When you start the download, several dialog boxes may appear on your screen:

If a "file download" box appears, simply click the "SAVE" button.
If a "Save-As" box appears, locate a folder where you want to save the MP3 program file and click "SAVE".
Some browsers will automatically save the file to a pre-determined location (often to your desktop or Documents folder).
A "Download Progress" box may appear showing the file downloading to your PC. When the download is completed, you may receive a final "Download Complete" indication. You can then CLOSE this dialog box.
Mac Users: iTunes may automatically launch and start playing the file after it's downloaded.
