Republicans will hold former President Donald Trump’s nominating convention this week in Milwaukee — just days after an assassination attempt at one of his campaign rallies — and NPR will provide special coverage Monday through Thursday. Tune in to WPR News stations each day and evening and visit wpr.org for local and national stories from the convention, including its impact on Milwaukee and its people.

There will be special coverage from NPR each night, including live broadcasts of key speeches from the vice presidential nominee on Wednesday and from presidential nominee Donald Trump on Thursday, alongside expert reporting and analysis from NPR’s team on the ground in Milwaukee.

Live NPR special coverage, recapping the major themes and events of the day will air on WPR News Monday and Tuesday night from 9-10 p.m., and Wednesday and Thursday from 8-10 p.m.

Capitol Bureau Chief Shawn Johnson, and reporters Rich Kremer and Anya van Wagtendonk will be inside the Fiserv Forum, and Evan Casey, Margaret Faust, and Corrine Hess will be outside the arena covering this unique event’s impact in Milwaukee.  Listen to their reports throughout each day and evening as part of the daily news coverage on both the WPR News and WPR Music networks, and at wpr.org.

For coverage beyond the headlines and immediate impact of the convention, listen to “Wisconsin Today” for a deeper dig into the developments from the RNC. Showcasing Wisconsin voices in and around the convention, you’ll hear from Wisconsinites gathering both inside and outside the week’s formal process. Tune in each day at 9 a.m. or hear the encore at 7 p.m. on WPR News, or listen to shows and segments any time at wpr.org.

Follow WPR on Instagram to see WPR photographer Angela Majors’ work inside the arena and out in the city, as well as videos and links to our reporters’ stories and other coverage.

And don’t forget you can get a daily short dose of all the most important stories in Wisconsin every weekday morning on the “Wisconsin Today: Morning News” podcast.

This special coverage will pre-empt “Today, Explained” and the 9:30 p.m. WPR News broadcast of “Chapter a Day” Monday-Thursday, and will also pre-empt “Fresh Air” on Wednesday, and “The Middle” on Thursday. “Chapter a Day” segments will be available at 7 p.m. on WPR Music, or starting at midnight the day of broadcast on wpr.org or the WPR App.
