The state Department of Health Services announced there are 585 positive cases of COVID-19 statewide Wednesday, as well as 10,089 negative tests. However, the number continues to grow as counties announce positive cases.

According to figures from DHS and individual counties, seven people in Wisconsin have died of COVID-19 as of 1:50 p.m. Wednesday. There has been one death each in Fond du Lac, Ozaukee and Dane counties and four in Milwaukee County.

Gov. Tony Evers issued a “stay-at-home” order Tuesday in an effort to slow the spread of the new coronavirus. The order went into effect at 8 a.m. Wednesday, and restricts travel and the operation of non-essential businesses, until April 24.
