Waukesha-based generator manufacturer Generac Power Systems on Wednesday announced plans to build a new production facility in Beaver Dam.
The 320,000-square-foot facility will be located in the city’s Highway 151 Business Park. Company officials say it will employ between 350 and 400 people, the jobs a mix of manufacturing and office positions.
Beaver Dam Mayor Becky Glewen said in a statement the proposed investment is a “testament to the business-friendly environment” the city has created.

“The establishment of this new plant translates to meaningful employment, stronger families, and a flourishing economy for Beaver Dam and the region and speaks volumes about the confidence that industry leaders like Generac have in our workforce, quality of life, and the infrastructure we offer,” Glewen said.
Generac President and CEO Aaron Jagdfeld added that the expansion is in response to growing demand for industrial generators.
“This new facility will help us to best meet the needs of our customers,” he said in a statement. “Additionally, the new manufacturing location demonstrates Generac’s dedication to shaping the future of industrial power generation.”
Generac says construction is expected to begin later this year, pending city approval. The company hopes to complete construction in 2025.
