University of Wisconsin-Superior is negotiating an agreement with UW-Eau Claire to share services as part of an effort to cut costs and explore regionalizing services within the UW System.
The announcement was made during Superior Days, an event in which northwestern Wisconsin residents and community leaders visit Madison to speak with state officials about regional issues.
UW-Superior Provost Faith Hensrud said the campus is negotiating with UW-Eau Claire to receive services from their human resources director.

“We’ll still have staff in human resources on our campus, but the director responsibility would be in the Eau Claire campus office,” said Hensrud.
UW System President Ray Cross said there are areas within the business offices of each campus that may be consolidated or regionalized, “whether it’s employment benefits coordinators or veterans benefits coordinators.”
Hensrud said the agreement with UW-Eau Claire would last for a year and allows an open position to remain unfilled.
