CVSO Presents: Echoes of Eternity: A Journey Through the History of the Chippewa Valley

Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to welcome LA Phil Principal Violist Teng Li for the premiere of a new viola concerto by award-winning local composer Chiayu Hsu, inspired by the history of the Chippewa Valley and commissioned especially for CVSO’s 50th anniversary season. The concerto will take us on a voyage through the past, from the natural beauty of our undeveloped region through Eau Claire’s industrial history to the present place of the Chippewa Valley in the greater world. Then we’ll hear Czech composer Dvořák’s experience of America reflected in his Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”. Commission Sponsors: Anonymous and Eau Claire Community Foundation.
