Klez Fest – All Events are Free

Enjoy Klez Fest, a 3-day klezmer extravaganza running from Sept. 20-22. The headliner is Alicia Svigals, an absolutely amazing violinist and one of the founders of The Klezmatics. She now plays with her own band, and they are giving the Saturday night concert. There is also a “Cine-Concert”: a showing of the silent Jewish-themed movie The Ancient Law, with live music by Ms. Svigals and Donald Sosin. They composed the score that they play live. In addition, there’s a concert featuring Wisonsin favorites Yid Vicious and the new klezmer band Tsuzamen. Events are free and open to the public and are being held either at the UW-Madison Hamel Music Center or the UW-Madison Music Hall.
