The Langlade County Historical Society and the Antigo Community Theatre have teamed up to offer a living history event with a Langlade County Cemetery Tour: “Presenting the Past with a Musical Twist”.
The hour-long presentation is in the form of a walking tour through the Queen of Peace Cemeteries, with small audience groups led from station to station by a guide. This year the theme is “Music that shaped Langlade County” There will be a number of historic stops featuring those people that brought their musical gifts to entertain the residents of the city of Antigo and Langlade County. Each of the stations will have performers that will tell their story of their historic and musical impact on our community. There will also be live music interludes that will “Pop Up” along the path with their musicality to share and entertain you.
This program is not designed to be spooky or scary and although the event is geared to adults, children are welcomed. The event will start at the St. Joseph’s Outpatient Clinic / Volm Cancer Center Parking Lot on Aurora St. The tour involves walking short distances over uneven ground, covering up to a quarter-mile. There will be six passenger golf carts to accommodate people with limited mobility. The 4-H -Tree Toppers will provide refreshments.
