Seven Ages Theatricals presents Much Ado About Nothing

September 13 @ 7:30 pm9:30 pm

Free

Seven Ages Theatricals will present its annual “Shakespeare in the Park” September 13th – 15th at City Green with the merry comedy of errors, Much Ado About Nothing. The show stars Kim Koeppen as Beatrice and Duncan Doherty as Benedick, with supporting stars Jack Colombo (7AT’s Hamlet) and Kate Boyce as Claudio and Hero, respectively. Lisa K. Adams (Romeo & Juliet) returns to the City Green stage as Leonata and 7AT regular Daniel Hennell also stars in the dual roles of Antonio and Dogberry. Daniel Zepp plays the villainous Don John and both he and Mr. Hennell are aided by Noah Bratz in the dual roles of Conrade and Verges, with additional “bad guy” support from David Boyce as Borachio. Kiana Liesch and Will Forman make their 7AT debuts as Margaret and Don Pedro, respectively. Natalie Grimm plays Ursula and several other supporting roles, in addition to serving as the assistant stage manager. 7AT regular Brandon Otten handles all other roles.

Much Ado About Nothing is Shakespeare’s hilarious tale of mistaken identities and quarreling lovers, centering on two romantic plots with plenty of twists: Benedick and Beatrice, longtime foes who engage in verbal olympics every time they meet are tricked by their friends to believe that each is in love with the other. Meanwhile, Claudio and Hero love each other but the evil Don John and his cronies Borachio and Conrade have a plot to besmirch Hero’s reputation until they’re cornered by the dutiful but hapless constable Dogberry and his deputy, Verges.

Much Ado About Nothing will play September 13th and 14th at 7:30 p.m. and September 15th at 2 p.m. Attendance is free to the entire community; 7AT recommends that audiences bring along a lawn chair, a snack, and their whole families for this beloved comedy (well-behaved pups are welcome, too!). The show is directed by 7AT Executive Artistic Director Tom Berger, with assistance and sound design from Associate AD Emily Sandoval. Lee Koeppen designs the sets and lights, with Trudy Berger stage managing and Tara Jackson designing the costumes, assisted by Brittany Robles and Sam Krueger. Seven Ages also traditionally announces its next season at the summer Shakespeare performance, so make sure you attend to hear 7AT’s exciting 2024-2025 season announcement!
