Mrs. Charles Dickens If you have not seen Jessica Michna at work as a master of characters, please join us for Mrs. Charles Dickens! She will bring us into the life and time of the Mrs. Dicken!

Charles Dickens, author, playwright, actor and social activist, was indeed a master of characters. Many of his characters were drawn from his surroundings and life experiences. Meet Catherine Dickens, as recreated by Jessica Michna, his long suffering wife and mother of ten children. In this first person monologue, Mrs. Dickens will give the audience an unflinching look into the lives of this couple and introduce the audience to such women as; Nancy from “Oliver Twist”, Miss Havisham from “Great Expectations”, Betsey Trotwood from “David Copperfield
and others.

Mrs. Michna appears in a period appropriate costume and will take questions from the audience following the presentation.

This and other talks in the lecture series are all on Thursdays, 12:30-1:30, in the Blue Hills Lecture Hall (Ritzinger 234) on the UWEC-Barron County campus, located at 1800 College Drive in Rice Lake. Thanks to financial support from the campus foundation, these presentations are free and open to the public. Neither seating reservations nor parking permits are required for attendees. Most talks are livestreamed at www.ricelaketv.com; most are also archived for later viewing at https://barron.uwec.edu/business-community/free-viewing-lecture-series/.
