The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating a fatal accident involving a contractor at the Expera paper mill in Mosinee on Monday morning.

The contractor was on a lift doing installation work at the mill and fell about 25 feet to his death, according to Addie Teeters, a spokeswoman for Expera Specialty Solutions.

“When the individual was found, the Mosinee Expera first responder team responded immediately, and made attempts to resuscitate the individual. But unfortunately, the individual was pronounced dead on the scene,” she said.

Teeters said OSHA is on the scene investigating the accident. The contractor’s employer, and not the paper mill, is apparently the subject of the investigation.

The names of the contractor and the contractor’s employer have not yet been released.
