It's elk breeding and viewing season in Wisconsin, followed by limited hunting
Two herds of wild elk are growing in Wisconsin. Native to the state but wiped out in the 1800s, elk were successfully reintroduced in 1995. With some 515 elk here today, below the goal of 1,400 animals, hunters will be allowed to harvest a dozen bulls this fall. A state wildlife biologist joins us.
