Man Found Dead Following Standoff In Columbus

DOJ Leading Investigation Following Domestic Violence Incident

By

A male suspect in a domestic dispute was found dead after a standoff with police in Columbus.

Officers responded to a home Sunday after getting a call from a person involved in a domestic violence incident who had fled to a neighbor’s house. Authorities say the man refused to leave the residence and that loud banging noises could be heard.

After hours of negotiations, police deployed non-lethal gas into the house, entered the residence and found the man dead. The State Journal says the Wisconsin Department of Justice is leading the investigation as the request of Columbus police.
