Kyle Rittenhouse Pleads Not Guilty To All Charges In Kenosha Killings

An Illinois teenager charged in the killings of two people during protests in Kenosha pleaded not guilty in a court appearance Tuesday.

Kyle Rittenhouse, now 18, was charged in Kenosha County in August with multiple counts, including homicide, endangerment and being a minor in possession of a firearm. Prosecutors allege Rittenhouse killed Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber and wounded Gaige Grosskreutz during a protest Aug. 25 over the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha.

During Tuesday’s hearing, Rittenhouse’s attorney Mark Richards entered not guilty pleas to all counts. A pretrial conference for the case will be held March 10 with Judge Bruce Schroeder.

The hearing for Rittenhouse comes the same day Kenosha County District Attorney Michael Graveley announced his office would not file charges against the white police officer, Rusten Sheskey, who shot Blake on Aug. 23.

The shooting, which was captured on bystander video and left Blake paralyzed, sparked sometimes violent unrest and eventually the deadly confrontation between Rittenhouse and several protesters.
