Newly elected Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Brett Blomme has been arrested on pending charges of possession of child pornography.
Blomme, 38, took the bench in August 2020. He has served on Children’s Court in Milwaukee.

“Based upon records linking those uploads to the defendant, DCI investigators obtained search warrants for the defendant, his chambers, his vehicle, and his residences in Milwaukee and Dane counties,” a press release from the DOJ states.
Neither Blomme or Milwaukee County Chief Judge Mary Triggiano could be reached for comment.
The investigation was led by the Wisconsin DOJ DCI, with assistance from investigators with the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office as well as other area law enforcement agencies.
Previously, Blomme served as an attorney with the Wisconsin State Public Defender’s Office, where he represented low-income individuals who were charged with felony and misdemeanor crimes, according to his website.
