Milwaukee police say five males have been arrested in connection to this week’s fatal shooting of a city of Milwaukee housing inspector.
Greg Zyszkiewicz died Wednesday afternoon after he went to conduct a home inspection in a Milwaukee neighborhood.
Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn told the media Friday afternoon that it appears Zyszkiewicz, or “Ziggy” as he was known to friends and family, was shot with a shotgun during an attempted carjacking.

Flynn said those arrested range in age from 16 to 21 years old. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said he’s proud of the police department’s work, but said it’s still a difficult time.
“This is still a personal nightmare for Ziggy’s family,” Barrett said. “It’s still a personal nightmare for the city family and for all people in this community who want this to be a better city.”
Flynn said the five suspects were arrested when police pursued two separate vehicles within hours of the shooting.
All five have prior criminal records, Flynn said. The Milwaukee County District Attorney is reviewing the case.
