Award nominations for Rokia Koné & Susana Baca

This week we were proud to receive news of award nominations for two Real World artists. Peruvian legend Susana Baca’s latest album Palabras Urgentes has been nominated for a Latin Grammy in the Best Folk Album category. The awards take place in Las Vegas on 17 November 2022. No stranger to the awards Baca is a three-time Latin Grammy winner, her most recent being 2020s A Capella album. Following the release of her debut album BAMANAN earlier this year, which was a collaboration with rock producer Jacknife Lee, Malian artist Rokia Koné has received two nominations in the All Africa Music Awards. She has been nominated in the Songwriter of the Year category for her song ‘Kurunba’, and is also up for Best Artist in African Traditional alongside fellow Malian Oumou Sangaré. The awards ceremony will take place in Lagos, Nigeria on 11 December 2022.
