When I hear the music of Alex Cuba, I’m instantly transported to and reminded of my many travels to the island of Cuba where I could hear, learn more about and experience several styles of music unique to Cuba filled with ‘sounds’ unlike any other around the globe.
Cuba’s new release “Sublime” re-imagines the rich character and influential signature of Cuban music genres like bolero, cha cha cha, son, bachata, mambo and more with featured performances by legendary Cuban vocalist Omara Portuondo of the famed Buena Vista Social Club, emerging artist Silvana Estrada, Leonel Garcia and others. What’s more, Cuba affirms that he is no stranger to standard popular music from rock n’ roll to funk.
