La Crosse Hotel Construction

Kubala Washatko Architect's Vince Micha is the lead architect on the Charmont Hotel project in La Crosse. The firm worked on another Wisconsin boutique hotel, Milwaukee's Iron Horse Hotel.

Contractors work on the bricks and mortar of the future Charmant Hotel. The building was constructed in 1898, originally housing the Joseph B. Funke Candy Company, and later Ross Furniture.

Workers found 100-year-old molasses between the floors during the conversion of the former candy factory. Architect Vince Macha has tour guests smell molasses-soaked wood, which still had a sweet scent.

Although the hotel is still under construction, one room has been set up to give an example of what the 67 total rooms may look like. Charmant will become one of the few boutique hotels in Wisconsin.
