A 31-year-old Milwaukee man, who allegedly pointed a gun at police after a vehicle chase, was killed by a law enforcement Friday morning.
According to a press release from the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s office, the man, whose identity is not being released, was killed at the intersection of S. 27th Street and W. Sycamore Avenue in Oak Creek near a Wal-Mart just before 8:30 a.m.
Investigators say the man kidnapped a male victim in the 1700 block of S. 26th Street and drove the alleged victim to at least three stores along 27th Street in Milwaukee and Franklin, a suburb south of Milwaukee, where the victim reportedly told store personnel he had been kidnapped.

According to the press release, the suspect and the victim were at a Franklin Wal-Mart, when there was a report made from the store of an active shooter.
“This aspect of the incident remains under active law enforcement investigation,” the press release says.
Following the active shooter report, officers from Franklin, Oak Creek and the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office converged on the area and the suspect allegedly abandoned his car, and stole a second vehicle.
It is unclear from the press release if the alleged kidnapping victim was freed at this time.
According to the press release, the suspect then led officers on a chase on southbound Interstate 91 which at times exceeded 110 mph. The suspect reportedly exited the freeway and continued driving northbound on 27th Street, crashing into a business parking lot at 27th Street and Ryan Road in Franklin.
He then allegedly carjacked another vehicle at gunpoint.
“At this location the suspect engaged in an armed confrontation with an Oak Creek officer,” the press release says.
The suspect continued driving northbound before striking another vehicle at the intersection of 27th Street and Sycamore Avenue, according to the release.
When he emerged from the vehicle, allegedly holding a firearm, he was “engaged by four deputies, one Franklin police officer and four Oak Creek officers and was fatally shot.”
The Sheriff’s office has not said which officer killed the suspect. None of the law enforcement officers were injured. They have all been placed on administrative leave while the West Allis Police Department investigates the case, according to the release.
Four people have been killed by officers in Milwaukee County since mid-August. In all cases, police have said the suspect had a gun.
