Alejandra Ros Pilarz

Alejandra Ros Pilarz’s research examines how parental employment, child care, and early education experiences contribute to young children’s development. She is particularly interested in understanding these questions in the context of economic disadvantage, and in the role of public policies in supporting low-income parents and their children’s development.

In one line of current research, Dr. Pilarz examines how parental employment characteristics, such as nonstandard and inflexible work schedules, are associated with young children’s cognitive and socioemotional outcomes.
