General Joni Mathews is the director of the Wisconsin Challenge Academy. After a 36-year military career General Mathews retired from her position as Wisconsin’s deputy adjutant general for Army, prior to becoming the director in April 2022. She is a member of the Lac du Flambeau band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.
