Joyce Carol Oates is one of the most prolific and eclectic authors in the American literary world. She’s published more than a hundred books, including novels, short story collections, poetry, plays, essays and children’s literature.
Oates earned her master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1961. Since then, she’s had a long list of career milestones and honors, including the National Book Award and the National Humanities Medal, and she has been nominated several times for the Pulitzer Prize.
