June Williamson is coauthor of “Case Studies in Retrofitting Suburbia: Urban Design Strategies for Urgent Challenges.” It is a sequel to a 2008 book that aimed to show how suburban buildings could be redesigned into more urban, sustainable places. Williamson is associate professor and department chair at the City College of New York’s Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture.
