Mallory Cheng is a “Midday” host and a news producer for the daily news podcast “Wisconsin Today.”
From time to time, Mallory will also fill in as a host of the podcast, during “Morning Edition” or “All Things Considered.”
She is an award-winning journalist whose work has been recognized by the Public Media Journalists Association, Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and the Milwaukee Press Club. At first, Mallory had no plans to be a radio journalist. It wasn’t until working with StoryCorps Chicago and co-hosting a college radio show that she fell in love with audio storytelling. She got her start in journalism as a documenter at City Bureau, where she learned how to sit through hours-long city government meetings.
Mallory most recently was a producer on “Lake Effect” at WUWM, Milwaukee’s NPR station, where she produced segments on local issues happening in southeast Wisconsin. Her reporting has also appeared on NPR’s “All Things Considered” and in the South Side Weekly.
